Before the swearing-in ceremony to be held on June 3 in Karnataka, the government formation exercise has intensified, for this DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are camping in Delhi. Siddaramaiah rejected Rajya Sabha offer
Apart from this, the high command has also offered Siddaramaiah a Rajya Sabha seat and a big position in the organization at the national level, so that the party can use him as a big Obosi face, especially in South India.
However, earlier Siddha had refused to go to Rajya Sabha and come to Delhi. In such a situation, the answer to all these questions will be available only after the face-to-face discussion between Siddha and Rahul. However, before the elections for 4 seats of Rajya Sabha and 9 seats of Legislative Council, there is a possibility that DK will take oath along with 8-10 important ministers on June 3 and the cabinet expansion will take place after June 18.
Earlier, DK Shivakumar told reporters, “We have to take a decision,” he said about the Council of Ministers. Earlier on Sunday, about the number of ministers taking oath with him, he said, I do not know. Whatever the party high command decides will be done. I don’t want to comment on that. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that no formal announcement or proposal has been received yet on the structure of the ministry.
Tug of war continues for ministerial post
With only 34 members in Karnataka’s Council of Ministers, including the Chief Minister, and a growing number of candidates vying for fewer seats, Shivakumar faces one of his first and biggest challenges as CM-designate.
Quoting sources, they indicate that the new cabinet may include familiar faces and new people, as special attention is being paid to caste calculations, regional balance and loyalty equations, especially from the Siddaramaiah camp. There is speculation that many ministers of the previous Siddaramaiah cabinet may not be retained and there may be many deputy chief ministers in the new government.
