Dhurandhar 2 Actor Rakesh Bedi On Royalty: Artists working in Hollywood films get royalty. If anyone has once worked in a film, then whenever that film earns money, its artists always get money in the form of royalty. However, this is not the case in India. Regarding this’stalwartJamil Jamali i.e. actor Rakesh Bedi has expressed his opinion. He said that if he had done the work he has done in India in Hollywood, he would have been very rich today.
While talking to News 18, Rakesh Bedi was asked that if the film did a business of thousands of crores of rupees, then after the success of the film, Aditya Dhar called him and said that what character have you played, I am not only giving you what I had promised (fees), but I am also giving you some extras. On this question, Rakesh Bedi said, “Look, if I had been doing the same work in Hollywood, which I have done in my life for so many years, then I would have been a very rich man today.”
Comparison of Bollywood with Hollywood on royalty
Rakesh Bedi further said, “What is it in Hollywood that if you work there, you keep getting checks month after month. Our Bombay industry has learned a lot from Hollywood, but did not learn this thing deliberately. They brought all the technology, they brought new cameras, they brought all kinds of modern things, but why did they not bring the thing that the actor should get money throughout his life (in the form of royalty).”
He also said, “Look at our Indian actors, who have done even one Hollywood film, they keep getting checks all their life. We don’t get anything. We have earned what we have earned once, but what Ranveer Singh had said that if ‘Dhurandhar’ earned 1000 crores, 500 crores would be because of Rakesh Bedi, then that is a metaphor, it is the generosity of Ranveer Singh that Rakesh Bedi has done a very good job in this film.
