Lyricist Sameer on Vulgarity in Bollywood Songs: Lyricist Sameer Anjaan, who has been writing songs in Bollywood films for the last 4 decades, has been a favorite of every generation. He is one of the few artists who has written songs for three generations in the industry and is still active in the world of cinema even after spending more than 40 years. Recently Sameer participated in TV9 Bharatvarsh’s special program 5 Editors. During this, he talked about the obscenity of the songs and said that the writer is not at fault in this, but every time the one who writes is caught. Whereas the real fault lies with someone else.
Regarding vulgarity in songs, Sameer said- ‘Why is this question asked only about poets. If the language of a character is such that songs have to be given according to it, then how can I write differently. The poet just wants to escape. Sarkaaye lyo khatiya jaada lage was not a song written by me, this song was written by me. People used to come in some groups and sing this folk song. Everyone also enjoyed that song. In such a situation, the song was written as per the demand made by Subhash Ghai and as per the song he was asked to write.
Why did Sameer Anjaan keep wandering even after his father was in the industry?
Recalling the days of struggle, Sameer said- I give credit to my father for the success I achieved. Light has no value without darkness. In such a situation, seeing that darkness was necessary before becoming successful. me a successful lyricist I had to make it, so my life was born in a small village. He worked as a spade operator, even took bath in ponds and studied under lanterns. Reached Banaras city and lived that city. Made banjo in Gupta Sangeetalaya. Then the entertainment orchestra party opened.
My father said that you try to do everything in life but do not try to become a lyricist. But Destiny proved to be the third character in my life. He told me from inside that your destination is something else. Left the bank job, which was a difficult decision at that time. But listened to the heart. And coincidentally, the first hit picture was Dil Hi.
