
There has been a continuous increase in incidents of violence in Pakistan during June and July 2026. A large number of civilians have died in the action of Pakistani Army, Police and other security forces in Rawalakot area of Pakistan occupied Kashmir i.e. POK.
According to sources, more than 35 people have been claimed killed in the last 36 hours. A total of more than 150 civilian deaths have also been claimed during June and July. On the other hand, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Punjab also, Pakistani security forces have suffered continuous losses in incidents like terrorist attacks, ambushes and hostage taking.
What do the figures say?
According to the available data, more than 755 incidents related to terrorism and extremism are claimed to have been recorded in Pakistan between January 1 and July 16, 2026. More than 600 civilians and more than 820 Pakistani security personnel are said to have died in the same period. It has also been estimated that if this situation continues, by the end of 2026, 1,600 to 1,700 security personnel of Pakistan may lose their lives.
What did India say on the demonstration in PoK?
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, India’s stand is clear and well known. The entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, including the areas illegally and forcibly occupied by Pakistan, are an integral and inalienable part of India.
He said that the ongoing widespread protests in PoK are a direct result of Pakistan’s economic exploitation, depriving people of their fundamental rights and administrative repression.
