In Pitampura area of Delhi’s Shakur Basti assembly, BJP MLA and BJP temple cell president Karnail Singh has broken a structure along with his supporters and workers. BJP MLA Karnail Singh claimed that a madrasa was being built illegally on DDA land. He told that this structure was being built illegally as a madrasa, which we have demolished today.
There is also a building along with this madrasa, which is being called a mosque by the local people. However, the MLA says that regarding all this, these people have been ordered by the court to vacate it immediately because this land belongs to DDA. In such a situation, I am warning and requesting them here today that they should vacate the land as soon as possible and I will not allow any kind of illegal madrassa or mosque to be built in my assembly.

In view of this action taken by the MLA today, in order to maintain the law and order situation at the spot, the police also, as a precaution, appealed to the people from both the sides to remain calm and tried to move them away from each other from the place as soon as possible so that no untoward incident or riot of any kind takes place.
Karnail Singh is a leader with Hindutva image.
Karnail Singh has become MLA for the first time on BJP ticket from Shakurbasti seat in 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. He defeated senior AAP leader Satyendar Jain. He belongs to a Hindutva image. He opposed offering Namaz on the roads and had written a letter to the police, citing traffic and inconvenience. AAP had called it divisive politics. Also, many people had called it a one-sided action, which is being taken by targeting a particular religion.
