
After the change of power in West Bengal, incidents of protest by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders are continuously coming to light. After the alleged attack on TMC national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee on Saturday (30 May), another party MP Kalyan Banerjee had to face opposition from the people, due to which the tension increased even more. In Hooghly, people raised slogans against Banerjee and raised slogans of ‘thief-thief’. Along with this, he was also beaten up. The statement of the MP has come out on this matter. He has accused BJP of being behind the attack on him.
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘When I was coming by car to meet the officer in charge of Chanditala police station and submit the memorandum, there was a huge traffic jam in Chanditala market. At that time I was walking with my PSO at Chanditala crossing, which is 50 kilometers away from Chanditala police station. There were 10-15 BJP goons in saffron clothes who suddenly raised slogans and created an atmosphere of hostility.

CRPF saved lives
He further said that BJP goons abused him but still he kept moving forward. During this time a stone was thrown on his head. Due to which blood came out from his head and he fell on the road. He told that a CRPF jawan came and somehow saved him, for which he is grateful to him.
‘Bengal Police remained a silent spectator’
Along with this, Bengal Police was accused of silently watching the drama. He said that Bengal Police remained a complete silent spectator during the incident and made no effort to stop the accused. He said that law and order in West Bengal has completely broken down and the situation remains serious. Along with this, he also said that this incident was an attempt to kill him.

‘BJP people are doing all this’
In the pictures and videos that have surfaced of this incident, Kalyan Banerjee is seen falling on the road holding his head. He said that the people of Bengal will tell why MPs are being attacked? There is no anger among the people.. He said that BJP people are doing all this.

Security personnel deployed on the spot
According to the information, Kalyan Banerjee had reached Chanditala police station on Saturday to submit a memorandum regarding the attack on Abhishek Banerjee and the demand for the release of arrested TMC leaders and workers. Meanwhile, BJP workers raised slogans of “thief-thief” due to which the atmosphere became tense. To deal with any untoward situation, heavy police force and central security forces have been deployed on the spot.
