
BJP has started damage control regarding the protests that took place after Narottam Mishra was not given ticket in Datia Assembly by-election. On Saturday, former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra met Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal and Organization General Secretary Ajay Jamwal in Bhopal. The meeting took place a day after the party refused to give him a ticket for the Datia assembly by-election. This meeting at the Chief Minister’s house took place amid protests in Datia after BJP’s decision to field Ashutosh Tiwari for the assembly by-elections.
On the other end, Narottam Mishra After meeting BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal said that Datia elections will be fought under the leadership of Narottam Mishra. He said that I have received information that some people have resigned out of anger, but no one’s resignation has been accepted.
Let us tell you that angry over not giving ticket to Narottam Mishra, many officials including BJP District President of Datia had collectively resigned from their posts and demonstrated from Friday evening till Saturday morning.
Congress made Ghanshyam Singh its candidate
On the other hand, Congress has announced to make Ghanshyam Singh its candidate for Datia Assembly by-election. In a statement issued by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, it has been said that All India Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the candidature of Ghanshyam Singh. Ghanshyam Singh has been a former MLA. BJP has made Ashutosh Tiwari its candidate. In this way, there will be a contest between Ashutosh Tiwari and Ghanshyam Singh in Datia.

At the same time, after the meeting, Narottam Mishra said that he will go to Datia for the nomination of Ashutosh Tiwari. He said that we had a good conversation. We talked about winning Datia; We are winning Datia, and we will win. I have already told them (supporters) to show patience and calmness, and gradually everything will be fine. I will be a part of the nomination.β

On the other hand, on the by-election of Datia Assembly seat, State President Hemant Khandelwal said, “BJP has declared Ashutosh Tiwari as its official candidate for the elections, I have come to know that some party workers have submitted their resignations. Although I have not received any resignation, but our party leadership has decided that all the party workers should remain engaged in their work. Therefore, we have not accepted any resignation. Narottam Mishra is our senior leader; under his guidance.” We will contest Datia elections and achieve a massive victory.β
Demonstration against not giving ticket to Narottam
Let us tell you that after the announcement of the ticket, protests had started in Datia. Where thousands of supporters of Narottam Mishra came out on the streets, clashed with the police and blocked National Highway-44 for about 12 hours. Violence broke out in Datia.
There were massive protests in Datia on Friday after BJP’s decision of not giving ticket to Narottam Mishra. According to officials, more than 3,000 protesters blocked NH-44, disrupting traffic for about 12 hours. This movement turned violent, in which the Superintendent of Police of Datia and many other police personnel were injured. However, later Narottam Mishra broke his silence and appealed to his supporters to maintain peace. Along with this, the BJP central leadership made it clear that the candidate will not be changed in Datia. The party has taken this decision after careful consideration.
