Different things have been told in different Puranas regarding the creation of the world. But in the first and second chapters of Brahmakhand of Brahmavaivarta Purana, it is clearly stated that where did Lord Brahma start the creation of the world?
In the first and second chapters of Brahmakhand of Brahmavaivarta Purana, it is told that Lord Brahma started the work of creating the world at Brahmavart Ghat of Bithoor, located just 20 kilometers from Kanpur city. This place is considered the ‘navel place’ of the earth. Let us know about it in detail.
History of Brahmavart Ghat
Lord Brahma had performed 99 Ashwamedha Yagya before creating the world. Brahma ji performed this yagya at a ghat in Bithoor, where the river Ganga flows. This has been described in detail in Brahmavaivarta Purana. Earlier the name of this place was Brahmavart but later it became smaller and became Bithoor. There is a Brahma Khunti on this ghat of Bithoor. It is a raised part of the earth, which also has a hole, hence it is called ‘Navel of the Earth’.
The formation of a human being begins from the navel only. Not only this, making anything starts from a central point. According to the beliefs of Hindu religion, Lord Brahma started the creation of the world from the ‘navel of the earth’.
The footprints of Lord Brahma are still here
Even today, the footprints of Lord Brahma are visible here. Here, big footprints are visible on a rock in the temple, which is said to be the feet of Lord Brahma in mythology. His feet are worshiped even today. It is believed that after the creation of the world, Lord Brahma also created men and women for the purpose of increasing the population. It is said that Lord Brahma had created Manu and Shatarupa here. These were considered the first men and women of the earth.
