Talking about MS Subbulakshmi, the singer was born in Madurai in the year 1916 and she started learning music from a very young age and her grandmother was a violinist. The singer had learned music from Pandit Narayanrao Vyas. His mother was also associated with the music world and was known for her stage performances at that time. Singer was also not behind in this matter and at the age of 11, she gave her first public appearance.
Her charm was such that veteran Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar called her Tapaswani. Sarojini Naidu and Kishori Amorkar also praised his singing. Not only was she the first singer to win the Bharat Ratna, she was also the first singer to perform in the United Nations General Assembly. He brought glory to the country across the world.
