A major success has been achieved in the direction of restoring peace in Manipur. 46 active militants of the banned militant organization Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group – KCP-PWG) met Chief Minister Y. at the Assam Rifles headquarters in Imphal. Surrendered to Khemchand Singh. During this period, the militants also handed over 28 modern weapons to the security forces. On Tuesday, 46 active militants of the banned militant organization Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) met Chief Minister Y. at the Assam Rifles headquarters in Imphal. Surrendered before Khemchand Singh. During the surrender, the militants handed over 28 modern weapons to the security forces. These include AK rifles, INSAS rifles, SLRs, .303 rifles, pistols, carbine machine guns, rocket propelled grenade (RPG) launchers along with a large quantity of ammunition and explosives.
According to security agencies, the surrender of so many militants simultaneously is being considered a big blow to the organization and its network in the valley areas has weakened considerably. According to security agencies, this is the first time that 46 militants of KCP PWG have surrendered together. Due to this, the organization’s network in the valley areas has weakened considerably. Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and other security agencies conducted continuous talks and contact campaigns for several weeks to motivate these militants to return to the mainstream. Security forces say that this step will give a new impetus to peace and development in Manipur and will also pave the way for long stalled development projects.
