
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray has got a big relief. The court has acquitted him in the case registered during the Railway Recruitment Movement in 2008. The court said that the government side has not been able to present sufficient and concrete evidence to prove the role and allegations of the accused.
Due to lack of evidence, Thane Sessions Court has declared Raj Thackeray acquitted in the case. He was accused of instigating by allegedly making inflammatory statements, but the court acquitted him of these charges also. After which there is a wave of happiness among Raj Thackeray supporters.
What is the whole matter?
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has got this relief in a case related to the 2008 railway recruitment movement. Thane Sessions Court has acquitted him of all charges. The court said in its decision that the prosecution failed to present sufficient and concrete evidence to prove the role and allegations of the accused. This case was related to the violence that took place at Kalyan railway station during the railway recruitment examination in 2008.
It was alleged that during that time MNS workers had beaten up North Indian candidates and railway property was also damaged. After this incident, a case was registered against seven people including Raj Thackeray.
“People from outside states are snatching the jobs of Marathi youth”
The prosecution claimed that through statements like ‘People from outside states are snatching the jobs of Marathi youth’, Raj Thackeray created an atmosphere against non-local people and allegedly encouraged violence. However, the court admitted that sufficient evidence could not be presented to prove these allegations. The last hearing of this case was held in December, in which Raj Thackeray appeared before the court and declared himself innocent. He had also said that he would cooperate fully in the judicial process. Today even during the decision, Raj Thackeray himself was present in the court. After the court’s decision, he has got complete relief in this matter.
