Big protest of farmers in Delhi tomorrow, know what are the main demands and why the protest is taking place

July 20, 2026 by Uma Shankar

A huge Kisan Mahapanchayat of farmers will be organized in Delhi tomorrow i.e. on 21st July. This Mahapanchayat, called on the call of ‘Desh Bachao Morcha’, will be held at Kisan Ghat in Delhi. It has been claimed that about 550 farmer organizations and social forums from across the country will participate in this Kisan Mahapanchayat.

Farmers allege that the trade deal with America will affect small farmers, laborers and the dairy industry. That’s why they are demanding its cancellation. Apart from this, the main agenda of the farmers also includes legal guarantee of MSP for all crops and farm loan waiver as per the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission.

At the same time, after this announcement of the farmers, the police in Haryana has started action in response to this announcement of the farmers. Haryana Police on Sunday detained Bharatiya Kisan Union (Chadhuni) President Gurnam Singh Chadhuni and some of his associates from Pehowa in Kurukshetra. In protest against this, farmers blocked many toll plazas and national highways in Yamunanagar, Ambala and Sonipat.

Farmers from many states will march to Delhi

It is being told that farmers from many states including Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have traveled to Delhi. In Haryana, along with farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni, many other big farmer leaders have been placed under house arrest. Farmers of Haryana have announced to march to Delhi at 5 am. But these farmers will be stopped from going to Delhi by the police there.

Farmers fear conflict with police

A large group of farmers from Punjab will also leave from Amritsar and stay at Fatehgarh Sahib at night. After this, at around 6 am in the morning, these farmers will enter Haryana from Shambhu border and then move towards Delhi. However, Haryana Police has put up heavy barricades on the Shambhu border and has made preparations to stop the farmers coming from Punjab here. In such a situation, there is a fear that farmers will once again have a police clash.
