‘Big people are being saved…’, Akhilesh Yadav’s big allegation in Ram Mandir donation theft case

June 25, 2026 by Uma Shankar

After FIR was registered against 8 people for alleged embezzlement of donations in Ayodhya’s Ram temple, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government of ‘protecting big people’. He has made a post on the social media platform He said that injustice under BJP rule will look like this, small branches will be hanged, while big branches will be forgiven.

Akhilesh Yadav further wrote in his post, ‘People are saying that on the pretext of constituting SIT, all the evidence must have been destroyed and it must have also been decided which big people will be saved and who will be implicated. Only after this the FIR was registered. It seems that its findings were already submitted to the SIT and then the investigation was conducted accordingly i.e. the decision was decided even before the investigation started.

Advice to seal Nepal and other borders

Even before this, Akhilesh Yadav had shared a post on this issue, in which it was written, ‘SIT without FIR is like a bow without an arrow. Now the sad news has come about the disappearance of the donated ‘Kagbhushundi’. The way new cases of theft of donations and gifts are coming to light every day, the anger of Sanatan devotees is increasing. In view of this, Nepal and other borders should be sealed so that criminals cannot escape.

Three-member SIT formed to investigate the scam

In fact, former SP MLA from Ayodhya Pawan Pandey had also made allegations and claimed that an amount of Rs 7 crore to Rs 7.5 crore donated from the Ram temple was embezzled. Following these allegations, the state government, on the request of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Trust, formed a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the alleged scam related to offerings in the Ram temple.

New petition filed in Supreme Court

Meanwhile, a new petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding a court-monitored investigation into the allegations. The petition sought registration of an FIR and formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate alleged missing funds, financial irregularities, mismanagement and other alleged illegalities related to the affairs and administration of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
