
An explosive device exploded in a cafe in the Syrian capital Damascus on Thursday, killing at least nine people. According to the report of the Syrian government agency, the ministry said that 20 people were also injured in this explosion near the main court complex.
The ministry said that at present no group has immediately claimed responsibility for this attack. Security forces immediately reached the cafe and cordoned off the area. They are investigating this attack.
The culprits will not be spared: Governor
Damascus Governor Maher Idlibi said the Interior Ministry would soon announce the findings of its preliminary investigation. Idlibi said the device appeared to be ‘ordinary’ and vowed that the perpetrators of the incident would not be spared.
Injured were taken to hospital
In a video circulating on social media, several injured people were seen lying on the ground, and police officers were also present nearby. Later, ambulances reached the spot, provided first aid to the people on the spot and transported the seriously injured to hospitals in the Syrian capital.
Security forces engaged in investigation
Till now no organization has taken responsibility for this attack. Immediately after the blast, security forces reached the spot and cordoned off the entire area. Officials are now investigating this attack closely.
Many lawyers were present in the cafe
In the video going viral on social media, many injured people are seen lying on the ground and police officers are helping them. Ambulances arrived at the scene and treated the injured, and those who were in more serious condition were admitted to hospitals in Damascus. It is being told that lawyers working in the nearby court often used to come to this cafe.
