
Delhi government has taken a big decision regarding the sacrifice of banned animals on the occasion of Bakrid. Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra has said that sacrifice of cattle, cow, calf and camel on Bakrid is completely illegal. Criminal case will be registered against those who do so. He said that sacrifice is completely prohibited even in public places, roads and streets. Sacrifice is allowed only at legal places.
In view of Bakrid, Development Minister Kapil Mishra gave instructions for strict adherence to laws related to animal welfare. Emphasis was laid on implementing a complete ban on killing or sacrificing cows, calves, camels and other prohibited animals.
Describing sacrifice and buying and selling of animals in public places as illegal, instructions were given to take strict action. Instructions were given for criminal action and special monitoring in cases of illegal animal transport, illegal sacrifice and animal cruelty.

The minister said, to ensure the well-being of animals and public hygiene during Bakrid, sacrifice should be allowed only at authorized and designated places. He also directed that a complete ban on slaughter or sacrifice of cows, calves, camels and other prohibited animals should be strictly implemented. He said that protection of animals is not only a legal responsibility but also a cultural and moral duty.
He directed that sacrifice, buying and selling of animals in public places is completely illegal and immediate action should be taken on complaints. He further said, disposal of the remains after sacrifice should be done strictly as per the prescribed safety standards, with coordinated monitoring by the concerned departments.
