
Before the assembly elections in Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal has suffered a big setback. Former Akali MLAs Vaninder Kaur Loomba and Karan Singh DTO joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with hundreds of their supporters in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Both the leaders belong to Patdan area of Patiala. During this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann welcomed all the new leaders and supporters in the party. He said that the involvement of these grassroots level leaders will strengthen the party in this area. CM Mann said that such a large number of supporters of opposition parties joining the party shows how his government is doing. He said that this shows the increasing support of the public towards the people-friendly initiatives and policies of the AAP government. This will increase both the party’s base and support base in this area in future.
