Foreign gangster connections revealed
Police have registered an FIR in this matter at SSOC police station, Amritsar. Initial investigation has revealed that the arrested accused were working on the instructions of gangsters sitting abroad, who are involved in gang war, extortion and other criminal activities in Punjab. These accused were involved in transporting consignments of weapons from one place to another and carrying out many criminal incidents.
Link also found with old murder cases
Investigation has also revealed that the arrested accused are linked to a murder case registered in Amritsar Commissionerate and another case of attempt to murder registered in Batala. This makes it clear that this network was not limited to arms smuggling only, but was also involved in serious violent crimes.
The police are now investigating this entire network in depth so that all its associates, local contacts and foreign handlers can be identified. Besides, the criminal activities done earlier by this gang are also being investigated.
Punjab Police has clarified that strict and decisive action will continue against organized crime, gangster networks and anti-social elements in the state, so that peace, security and law and order can be completely strengthened in Punjab.
