But the biggest turning point of his fate was yet to come. He got the second lead role in the Telugu blockbuster film ‘Ashta Chamma’ released in 2008. The film was a superhit and overnight Bhargavi became the new sensation of Tollywood. How did Bhargavi die?
On the morning of 16 December 2008, producers and crew members of the film ‘Holidays’ reached Bhargavi’s flat in Banjara Hills, a posh area of Hyderabad. The film was to be shot that day, but Bhargavi’s phone was not available since morning. When the door of the flat was knocked, no sound came from inside. When the door was opened with the help of the police, everyone was shocked to see the sight inside.
Bhargavi’s body was lying completely soaked in blood on the bed. According to the post-mortem report, he was brutally stabbed 7 times with a knife on his heart, neck and chest. The body of her former mentor and live-in partner Praveen Kumar alias Bujji was also lying near Bhargavi’s body. Praveen’s head was in Bhargavi’s lap.
Police found suicide note
During investigation, the police found a suicide note there, which was written by Praveen. Along with this, a dagger and an empty cyanide bottle were recovered from the room. This suicide note exposed the dreadful truth which had ruined this cheerful life. Actually, Praveen was already married twice and was much older than Bhargavi. In the suicide note, Praveen claimed that he and Bhargavi had secretly married in a hotel in Nellore in 2006 (though Bhargavi’s parents always denied the marriage). Praveen said that as long as Bhargavi was struggling, everything was fine. But as soon as ‘Ashta Chamma’ became a hit and Bhargavi started getting films from big banners, she started maintaining distance from Praveen.
