The Supreme Court will hear today the petition demanding a CBI investigation into the murder case of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, a resident of Biloti village of Shahpur in Bhojpur district of Bihar. This petition has been filed by Vishal Tiwari. In this petition, calling the encounter fake, the court has been requested to issue an order to register an FIR against the police officers and personnel involved and hand over the investigation of the entire case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Through the petition in the court, it has been said that in such cases, independent and impartial investigation is necessary to protect the rule of law and the fundamental rights of the people. It has also been requested in the petition that this entire matter should be investigated under the supervision of an independent expert committee constituted under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the Supreme Court.
Serious questions on investigation methods
Let us tell you that Bharat Bhushan is raising serious questions on the manner of police action and investigation in Tiwari’s death. On June 18, the mother of deceased Bharat Tiwari had given a written complaint to register a case of murder against the sub-divisional police officer of Shahbad, the then police station in-charge of Shahpur and other policemen. The family alleges that the police kept dilly-dallying. Only after four days, when media pressure increased, an FIR was registered in the matter.
