Why monsoon season in August?
Punjab and Haryana Assemblies run in the same building, hence the assembly sessions of both the states do not take place at the same time. Keeping in mind the security, VIP movement and administrative arrangements, the dates of the sessions of the two states are decided separately. Haryana will also announce the dates of its assembly session at the end of July. For this reason, there is a plan to organize the monsoon session of the Punjab Assembly in August.
Akal Takht had ordered to amend the Jagat Jyoti Act within a month. In the order issued on June 29, a demand was made to amend the Guru Granth Sahib Hospitality Act. The government has to present these amendments in the Assembly, hence the Assembly session to be held in the first week of August is considered important.
The government also has to take many other important decisions. The approval of the Assembly is required for many proposals including the ordinance related to fees of private schools. Since the assembly elections are near, the government wants to complete these works quickly.

Regarding the farmers’ protest, the Chief Minister said, “I want to tell Haryana and the Central Government that the farmers should be allowed to go to Delhi, they should not be stopped at the Shambhu border. This right should not be taken away from the farmers. I want to tell Modi ji that you call yourself the leader of the whole world. You stopped the war between Russia and Ukraine. It would be good if you sometimes talk to your people too. Call the farmer leaders and talk to them. Allay their doubts regarding the US-India trade agreement. Should be removed.”
Regarding the Jantar Mantar controversy, the Chief Minister said that the youth want to change their future through education. Thousands of students work hard with the belief that they will change the future of their families with their books. But when they come to know that the exam copies have been leaked, their confidence is shattered.
He said that when it comes to making the country a global leader, not a single examination is being conducted properly. This is not the first time. There were reports of question paper leak in 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2024 also. Because of this, hardworking students believe that those who have money buy question papers and move ahead, while those who study are left behind.
