Poll strategist Sunil Konugolu has recently given a presentation (report) to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi regarding the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. According to this report, the Congress Party should give the message that it is going to fight the elections not around any one individual but under the leadership of Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. This will put an end to the internal factionalism of the party.

Rana Gurjeet: Rana Gurjit should be given the responsibility of winning the party’s own and his son’s seats and 15 to 20 nearby seats. It has also been said in the report that Gurjeet will have to leave behind his and Kheda’s dispute and work in the interest of the party.
Charanjit Singh Channi: In the report, Channi has been described as the biggest asset of Congress. He has been described as the biggest crowd puller. In the report, Channi has been asked to directly take responsibility for the seats of Jalandhar and Anandpur Saheb. According to the report, if Channi campaigns with full force, he can influence 20 seats. It has also been recommended to make Channi the chairman of the Election Management Committee.
Vijender Singhla: Singhala has been asked to give important responsibility by focusing on Hindu voters. He can be made the head of the manifesto committee.
Collusion between AAP and BJP
This claim has been made in Kanugolu’s report and it has been said to create this narrative that there is nexus between Aam Aadmi Party and BJP in Punjab. BJP can support AAP after elections. The news of anti-incumbency against Aam Aadmi Party has to be raised vigorously.
The report talks about strategic re-induction, i.e. bringing back old leaders who have left the party into the party on the basis of their vote bank. The fact that Congress has won 50 plus seats has to be made public in the report. It should be publicized that Congress is fielding 40 of its big leaders in the election field. This will directly create an atmosphere in favor of Congress on 34 reserved seats.
Keep a close eye on SIR
It has been said in the report that the SIR process should be closely monitored. Digital cadre should be created. The party should immediately give the responsibility of each place in the 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab to a senior leader.
