Bengal: Vande Mataram is necessary in Madrassas, strong order for government employees too… Shubhendu government took these two big decisions in 24 hours

May 21, 2026 by Uma Shankar

After schools, the West Bengal government has now made ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory during prayers in all the madrassas of the state. The government has given this order by issuing a notification. This rule is for all government and non-government madrassas that get help from the government. According to the order, everyone will have to sing ‘Vande Mataram’ during prayers in madrassas. This is mandatory in all madrasas.

Apart from this, another new order of the government has come, which is being said to be controversial. This order directly limits the freedom of speech and writing of government employees. According to this, government employees cannot speak in the media without permission. Cannot give interviews to newspapers or TV channels. There is also a ban on writing without permission.

Decree for government employees also

Cannot criticize the policies of the Central or State Government. People say that this order of the government is like a rule to suppress the voice of the employees. This also includes teachers and other employees of government schools and colleges. People are comparing it with the Emergency of 1975. People fear that this will increase censorship and voices of opposition will be suppressed.

Tough and big decisions of CM Shubhendu Adhikari

BJP government has been formed for the first time in Bengal. Shubhendu came into action after taking oath as CM. In the last few days, he has taken many big and tough decisions. These include reshuffle in officers, steps related to law and order, decisions related to investigation of allegations of alleged irregularities against TMC leaders. Annapurna scheme has been approved.

This scheme will start from June 1st. Women of Bengal will get Rs 3000 every month. CM Shuvendu has reduced OBC reservation from 17 percent to 7 percent. Now only 66 castes and communities will remain under the ambit of OBC reservation in the state.

The West Bengal government has handed over 120 acres of land in the Siliguri corridor to the Centre. This decision has been taken to strengthen the security of ‘Chicken Neck’, develop border fencing and infrastructure. This corridor connects north-east India with the rest of the country.
