
Tomorrow (Monday, July 6) is the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and renowned educationist. His birth anniversary will be celebrated with great pomp in West Bengal. But just a day before the birth anniversary, a case of vandalism has come to light on the platform of the statues of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Gopal Patha (Mukherjee) in Sukiya Street area of Kolkata. The politics of the state has heated up regarding this incident.
Statues of ‘Bharat Kesari’ Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Gopal Patha were installed recently. It is alleged that even before the inauguration, the platform built beneath it was vandalized. The statues were to be formally unveiled on the occasion of the birth anniversary i.e. on 6th July. But before that, unknown people broke the platform built under the statues.
The platforms of both the statues were broken
Actually, two statues of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Gopal Mukherjee were installed on Sukiya Street by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. It was told that they would be inaugurated tomorrow i.e. on 6th July, on the birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. But it is alleged that before that, the platforms of both the statues were broken late last night. The plaques on the statues were also broken. However, both the statues are safe.
Police busy searching for the accused
Today (Sunday, July 5) morning everything was found broken on Sukia Street. Whose information was given to the police. After this, the police reached the spot and did a complete inspection of the incident site. The broken plaque and other items were removed and the area was cleaned. There is a lot of anger among the people regarding this incident. Politics has also started on this matter. At present the police has started searching for the culprits. Police are examining CCTV footage in connection with the incident to find clues about the vandals.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will go to Kolkata
The 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee is to be celebrated across West Bengal on Sunday. Many programs are to be organized by various social and political organizations. It is reported that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the state once again on Monday. On the occasion of the birth anniversary, the Union Home Minister will participate in many programs.
