BJP workers, led by BJP MLA Priyanka Tibrewal, demonstrated outside the residence of expelled TMC leader Sandipan Saha and raised slogans against him. Sandipan Saha and Swarn Kamal Saha have looted public money. For the last two days, Sandipan Saha has been saying that he is not involved in this corruption of TMC. He is not a saint. They are all thieves. Our issue is that we have a piece of land in ward number 18 of Durgapur district.
Priyanka said that we do farming there. Both Sandipan Saha and his son had said that they would give us Rs 50,000 for one square foot. We did not get that money. They forcibly took over the land of poor people by cajoling, intimidating and threatening them.

‘Looted public money’
During the protest, Priyanka said, ‘These donkeys which the public has brought here are to show that there were two donkeys in Trinamool, they are Sandipan Saha and Swarn Kamal Saha. People like those donkeys have looted public money. Now they should answer why they did this. The BJP leader alleged that the father-son duo forcefully snatched land from common citizens and indulged in extortion. No immediate response was received from Sandipan Saha or TMC regarding these allegations.
Tibrewal also commented on the ongoing political turmoil within the Trinamool Congress after the rebellion of a group of party MLAs. When a new group of MLAs came forward supporting expelled party leader Ritabrata Banerjee for the post of Leader of Opposition (LoP), he said that this was bound to happen. Here a party is organized by bringing thieves, this will definitely happen there.
His statement came amid the deepening internal crisis in TMC, where a rebel group claiming the support of 58 MLAs had sought recognition from Assembly Speaker Rathindranath Bose.
