Haryana’s Energy Transport and Labor Minister Anil Vij attacked the opposition and said that democracy works on the basis of representation and the people’s issues should be raised by their elected representatives in the Parliament. He said that in a democracy, everyone has the right to hold protests, demonstrations and processions, but forcibly entering the Lok Sabha and expressing one’s views is not allowed in any democratic system.
The minister said, ‘Democracy runs on representation, representatives are made for that, hence such people should put pressure on their representatives, why don’t they come forward and put forward their views’. In a democracy, they have the right to hold meetings, processions, dharnas, demonstrations and raise their voice, but if any group says that 500 of us will go inside the Lok Sabha and express our views and try to enter the Lok Sabha, then this is not allowed in any democracy around the world.
‘Congress is a hindrance party’
While talking to journalists in Chandigarh, Vij targeted Congress and said that Congress is a party of obstruction and their job is to create obstruction in any way, it causes harm to the people.
‘Mahatma Gandhi did not stone anyone’
The Energy Minister said that the opposition says that Mahatma Gandhi had also given dharnas. He said that Mahatma Gandhi had never thrown stones at anyone. Referring to the recent protest, he said that the policemen also suffered many injuries during this protest, whereas no one threw stones during any of Mahatma Gandhi’s protests.
‘Opposition releases new documentary before every session’
He said that if we collect information about the last 15 to 20 sessions, we will know that before every session the opposition releases a new documentary. He said that these are the same people who come as different types of characters. Whereas their objective is to obstruct the work of the government, due to which people suffer loss.
On the issue of paper leak, the minister said that recently Union Minister JP Nadda listened to the cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and has also taken their letter and now the government will consider, hence the matter should end. Attacking the opposition, he said that now new artists have come, they are talking new things. He said that democracy does not work like this.
‘Who is stopping you from talking in Parliament?’
At the same time, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement that if we are not allowed to put forward our views in Parliament, we will present our views on the streets. In response to the question asked regarding this, Anil Vij said that who is stopping him from talking in Parliament. The government is saying come and talk. Even before this we said that we are ready to listen to the matter but they are sitting outside protesting. The minister said that go inside the Parliament and present your views and explain your views to the government. He said that but before explaining to the government, one has to understand the matter himself.
‘Papers were leaked even during Congress’
Minister Vij raised questions on the previous Congress governments and said that papers were leaked even during the Congress rule. He said that the railway paper was leaked in Madhya Pradesh. He questioned whether any Congress minister had resigned then. He said that those who are at fault should be punished. He said that the culprits have been caught and action will be taken as per law. He said that one should be angry when the government is not taking action, whereas the government is taking action.
‘Rahul Gandhi went abroad after the paper was leaked’
He said that the NEET paper was conducted again, the children passed, and the children of Haryana and Punjab have also secured good marks in this examination. He said that after the paper was leaked, Rahul Gandhi traveled abroad for 20 days. He said that if he had been worried, he would not have gone abroad. Since then he would raise his voice, hold dharnas and take out processions.
Vij said that when the session starts, they come back and sit at the gate. He said that people should be heard inside the House. He said that the opposition is formed so that they can go inside and present the views of the public. Express your views before the government. He said that the session started yesterday and today itself the opposition sat on strike. He said that the opposition leaders did not go inside, did not talk and were protesting outside.
