The play ‘Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya O Jamyai Nai’ has been written by Asghar Wajahat. This play is based on the background of Lahore some time after partition in 1947. It is the story of a Muslim refugee family who moves from Lucknow to Lahore after partition. The family inherits a large mansion, which once belonged to a rich Hindu family who had migrated to India during the violence. On reaching the mansion, they find that an elderly Hindu woman, who is fondly called ‘Mai’, still lives there. She refuses to leave her ‘home’ and has no where else to go. After this, the elderly woman starts living with a Muslim family.
