AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s offer of alliance in UP has increased the concern of Samajwadi Party and Congress. They fear that Owaisi may damage the India alliance by fighting alone or by forging an alliance with Chandrashekhar or BSP. Therefore, SP was forced to initially welcome the statement. Whereas Congress, which calls Owaisi as BJP’s B team, is maintaining silence.
Giving a formal offer, AIMIM Chief Owaisi said that our party is ready to form an alliance to stop BJP from coming to Uttar Pradesh. Provided that in that alliance we are looked upon with respect and given equal status. It is believed that Owaisi has given offers to both SP and BSP without naming any party. However, there has been no reaction from BSP on this. But SP has welcomed this statement of Owaisi.

The edge of Muslim voters has reduced in front of Yogi’s Hindutva in UP, but it is still the biggest vote bank for the opposition. The Muslim population in UP is about 19%. Muslim voters decide on 57 seats out of 403. About 130 seats are affected. Muslim vote is the kingmaker in Western UP, Awadh and Purvanchal. Muslim votes are decisive in 34 out of 80 seats of the Lok Sabha. Owaisi has his eyes on these seats only. Owaisi, who had earlier won 5 seats in Bihar’s Kishanganj, is now making inroads in the border areas of UP. Owaisi has caused loss to India block in Maharashtra also.
Congress maintains silence regarding Owaisi
In such a situation, SP could not directly distance itself from Owaisi’s statement. Meanwhile, the Congress, which called Owaisi the B-team of the BJP, is forced to remain silent for the time being, trapped in the turmoil of the alliance. Regarding this, Congress State President Ajay Rai says that he has not heard Owaisi’s statement. Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra said that our central leadership has been taking decisions on Owaisi in every state to protect the Constitution and will take decisions as per the Constitution in future also.
SP-Congress uneasy with Owaisi’s entry and offer
In the politics of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi has been in power for two consecutive terms riding on aggressive Hindutva. In such a situation, the SP-Congress alliance wants to consolidate Muslim votes in its fold. But Owaisi’s entry and new offer have made SP and Congress restless. Now for SP and Congress, Owaisi is a bone in the throat which is neither being swallowed nor spit out.
