Abu Dhabi-based BAPS Hindu Temple has been awarded the prestigious ‘Tolerance Award 2026’. The honor recognizes BAPS’s commitment to global peace and its contribution in promoting tolerance, mutual respect, harmony and human unity around the world. This honor was given during the International Dialogue of Civilization and Tolerance Conference (IDCT 2026).
This award is not just an honor for an institution, but an acknowledgment of the universal values of humanity, compassion, unity and mutual respect that BAPS Hindu Temple is continuously instilling in the society.
Amazing example of world brotherhood
Through the Festival of Harmony, Omsiyyat and various humanitarian aid campaigns, the temple has set a wonderful example of universal brotherhood by bringing together people of different religions, cultures and nationalities. Receiving the award, Pujya Brahmavihari Swami, Head of BAPS Hindu Temple, Abu Dhabi, gave inspiring thoughts on family, spirituality and the future of AI.
Foundation of strong society and prosperous nation
He said that the most important question today is not what AI can do, but what kind of humans we are becoming due to the impact of AI. Referring to the eternal ideals of Indian culture, Matridevo Bhava, Pitridevo Bhava and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, he said that strong families are the basis of a strong society and a prosperous nation. He described the tradition of Ghar Sabha inspired by His Holiness Pramukhswami Maharaj as an effective social need of the modern era, where the family sits together for some time every day and experiences prayer, dialogue and intimacy.
‘The future will not just be made up of more intelligent machines’
At the conclusion of his address, he gave a message that the future will not be made only by more intelligent machines. It will be made up of stronger families, more sensitive hearts and more compassionate communities. We need not just AI Powered Families, but AI Empowered Families. This honor symbolizes the global role of BAPS Hindu Temple, through which it is becoming a new inspiration for peace, dialogue and human unity in the world by connecting cultures, communities and countries.
