
If you are planning to go to the bank branch next week to complete any important work, then definitely check the list of holidays first. According to the calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for a total of 4 days in different parts of the country between June 22 and June 28, 2026.
A total of 11 bank holidays have been scheduled in June 2026 due to national, regional and religious occasions. These include all Sundays except the second and fourth Saturdays.
When will banks be closed next week?
Next week banks will remain closed on June 25, June 26, June 27 and June 28.
- June 25: Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada on the occasion of Moharram.
- June 26: Due to Moharram, Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata,
- Banks will remain closed in Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi and Srinagar.
- June 27: Being the fourth Saturday of the month, banks will remain closed across the country.
- June 28: All bank branches will remain closed due to Sunday.
When are the other bank holidays in June?
As per RBI holiday calendar:
- June 15: Banks remained closed due to Young Mizo Association (YMA) Foundation Day in Aizawl and Raja Sankranti in Bhubaneswar.
- June 29: Banks will remain closed in Shimla on the occasion of Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti.
- June 30: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl due to regional holiday ‘Remna Ni’.
Banks do not open even on Saturday and Sunday
According to RBI rules, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturday of every month as well as on all Sundays. In June 2026, banks are or will remain closed on June 7, 14, 21 and 28 due to Sundays. There will be no work in bank branches due to June 13 being the second Saturday and June 27 being the fourth Saturday.
Online services will remain operational even during holidays
Despite bank branches remaining closed, digital banking services will remain available normally. Customers will be able to transact through UPI, mobile banking app, internet banking, ATM, debit card and credit card.
NEFT, RTGS, fund transfer, bill payment and other online banking facilities will also be available. However, sometimes services may be temporarily affected due to scheduled maintenance, about which banks inform in advance.
Therefore, if you have to deposit a cheque, make a cash transaction, make a draft or do any important work related to the branch, then before going to the bank, definitely check the information about holidays in your area.
