Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore has announced to contest the by-election from Bankipur assembly seat in Bihar. As soon as he contested the by-election, Kishor has started attacking Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. He said that this by-election is a referendum for CM Samrat Chaudhary. Samrat was not a face in the last assembly elections, he has been brought in through the back door.
Prashant Kishore said in a special conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh that after losing the Bankipur by-election, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will have to leave his chair. This by-election is like a referendum for the emperor. He was not the face of the alliance in the last assembly elections, he has been brought in through the back door.
Election of BJP’s ego also: PK
He further said, “This is an opportunity to tell the public whether Samrat Choudhary’s actions and character are on par with his face. If he loses this election, it will be impossible for Samrat Choudhary to continue as a leader.” He said that Samrat is a person of criminal nature and nothing good can happen in Bihar during his tenure. This election is also an election of BJP’s ego, BJP thinks that from here they will give tickets to even dogs and cats and they will win.
On the question of contesting his own elections, Prashant Kishore said, “I am contesting the elections not to become an MLA but to change the system.” He said that Tejashwi Yadav’s friends and supporters have made up their mind because the atmosphere here is going to be in favor of Prashant Kishore. We do not believe in coalition politics.
Seat vacant due to resignation of Nitin Naveen
Earlier, Prashant, founder of Jan Suraj Party, announced to contest the by-election to be held on Bankipur assembly seat on Sunday. He then termed the by-election as a ‘referendum’ on the popularity of the BJP-led government in the state.
Bankipur Assembly seat had become vacant after BJP national president Nitin Naveen resigned from Bihar Assembly after being elected to Rajya Sabha. Yesterday he had said, “The people of Bankipur are the richest and most educated in Bihar. Let them vote for the best candidate. If they feel they can trust me, I appeal to them to vote for me.”
The process of filling nomination papers for the by-election started from Monday, which will continue till July 13. Voting will take place on July 30. Counting of votes will take place on August 3. BJP, which has been winning this seat since the 1990s, would like to maintain its victory this time too.
