
A large number of Bangladeshi citizens are living illegally in most cities of India. One such Bangladeshi citizen has been caught, who was living in the guise of a eunuch. He neither had a valid passport nor visa. Even he did not have any other document.
Police in the capital Delhi have detained a 44-year-old Bangladeshi citizen, who was allegedly living illegally in India for a long time. He was roaming in Jahangirpuri area of Delhi disguised as a eunuch. The accused was caught during a special operation conducted by the North West District’s Foreigner Cell against illegal foreign nationals.
No valid passport or document
According to Delhi Police, the accused has been identified as Sukanta Chandra Das alias Madhuri. Sukanta was arrested on July 10 after receiving a specific intelligence from under Bhalswa flyover in Jahangirpuri. During interrogation, he could not show any valid passport or visa or other necessary documents to stay in India.
Police said that detailed investigation and technical investigation confirmed that he was a Bangladeshi citizen and was living in India without valid documents. During interrogation, accused Sukanta allegedly admitted that he used to go out at night wearing the dress of a eunuch and was involved in illegal activities.
Bangladeshi identity found in the phone
During investigation, banned IMO application was found installed in the smartphone seized from him. Police also claimed that the phone’s gallery contained several photographs of Bangladeshi national identity documents.
This operation was conducted by a team of Foreigners Cell under the leadership of Inspector Vipin Kumar and supervision of ACP Ranjit Dhaka. After completing the legal formalities, the accused was produced before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), after which the process of deporting him back to Bangladesh has been initiated as per law.
Earlier, 11 more Bangladeshi citizens were detained in a new action against illegal immigrants in Mangaluru, Karnataka. Mangaluru Police has identified 11 more Bangladeshi nationals who were allegedly living here illegally, officials said on Monday. With this the total number of people detained in Mangaluru has increased to 19.
