
A big revelation has come to light in the murder of Chandranath Rath, personal secretary of BJP leader Subhendu Adhikari, during the elections in West Bengal. The car which was used in the murder was purchased from Bansdih Road area of Ballia for only Rs 50 thousand. CBI has interrogated many people including a sand-ballast trader from Ballia in this connection, while the third arrest has also been made from Ballia in the case.
According to CBI, the car used in the murder was purchased by Gyanendra Singh Monu, resident of Shital Dawani, on May 1, 2026, from sand trader Jitendra Singh, resident of Phulwariya village of Bansdih Road, for Rs 50,000. More than 12 cases including firing and Gangster Act are registered against Gyanendra Singh Monu in Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.
How is a car chain made?
Jitendra Singh told CBI that during Chhath Puja, Deepak Singh alias Mitthu of the village informed him about the sale of a car by a person resident of Hussainabad village, Bansdih Kotwali. The car was purchased for Rs 35 thousand. After five months, Deepak Singh himself talked about selling this car for Rs 50 thousand. Out of greed, Jitendra Singh sold the car to Gyanendra Singh Monu. The car is still registered in the name of the original owner, a resident of Hussainabad. The documents could not be transferred. The CBI has conducted detailed interrogation of the real owner of the car, Jitendra Singh and his son. Jitendra Singh admitted on Wednesday that the CBI team had come to his house and was interrogated.
CBI arrested three accused
In this case, on Wednesday, CBI arrested Naveen Singh, resident of Dhamhampura village of Phephna police station area of Ballia. Before this, Raj Singh and Rajkumar Singh have been arrested. According to CBI, Naveen Singh was caught on the behest of Rajkumar Singh. Naveen Singh was produced in the court, where the demand for transit remand was rejected.
The court sent him to Mau jail in judicial custody. CBI is now trying to recover the car used in the murder. The miscreants reached Kolkata from Ballia in this car, committed the murder and fled away. CBI is investigating this murder of a close aide of Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari. The scope of investigation by CBI team in Ballia is increasing. The CBI team is continuously engaged in the investigation. According to sources, more arrests may be made in the next few days.
