This is how Nepal will resolve border dispute with India
1. Nepal’s Prime Minister Balen Shah is completely silent. After May 31, Balen has not even reached the Parliament of Nepal. Due to Balen not reaching the Parliament, the proceedings of the Parliament have come to a standstill for 3 days. Not only this, both the government spokesperson and the Foreign Ministry denied the statement of Balen’s capture.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the manner in which Balen’s statement has been taken is not correct. According to Nepal Foreign Ministry, Nepal has not occupied Indian land, whereas Prime Minister Balen had said that Nepal has also occupied Indian land in some areas.
2. When there was an uproar in Nepal over Balen Shah’s statement, his party president Ravi Lamichhane came to Delhi to resolve the border dispute. In Delhi, Lamichhane met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Home Minister Amit Shah and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Usually Amit Shah does not meet foreign leaders.
Speaking to BBC Nepali, delegation member and Nepal MP Deepak Bohra said- India has asked to bring a proposal to resolve the issue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his commitment to work under Neighbor First by making a post on social media.
3. According to Nepali newspaper E-Kantipur, Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal will go to New Delhi on Saturday (June 6). Khanal will participate in different meetings here for 3 days. It is being said that Khanal can come to New Delhi from Kathmandu only with the proposal.
Actually, the Prime Minister of Nepal cannot visit any country for the next one year. This guideline has been decided by their ruling party.
India vetoed the entry of third country
On May 31, in response to a question in Nepal’s Parliament, Prime Minister Balen Shah said that we have contacted Britain and China to resolve the border dispute. However, Britain immediately distanced itself, calling it a bilateral matter.
After Balen’s statement, India’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that 98 percent of the border issue with Nepal has been resolved. There is controversy at some places due to changing the course of Gandak. Both parties can resolve this amongst themselves.
Randhir Jaiswal further said that there will be no entry of any third party in resolving the border dispute between India and Nepal.
