After the incident of theft of offerings from Ayodhya Ram Temple came to light, the meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to be held on Monday, July 6, is being considered very important in many ways. For the first time, all the trustees will sit together in this meeting to be held at Mani Ramdas ji’s cantonment at 3 pm. The meeting will be presided over by Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. According to the agenda issued by Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri, the meeting will begin with consideration of the resignation letters of former General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra.

After this, the interim report of the three-member SIT investigating the irregularities in the calculation of offerings received from the donation boxes of Ram Temple will be placed before the Trust. All trustees will be informed of the key points of the report and further action will be discussed.

Eight accused in jail

This meeting is taking place at a time when eight accused involved in the calculation work in the offering theft case are in jail and the investigation into the case is progressing steadily. In this case, former General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra have also been in the center of discussion due to the allegations. In such a situation, all eyes are on this meeting of the Trust.

According to sources, many important proposals can also be considered in the meeting to make the administrative and financial system of Ram Temple more transparent and accountable. Among these, there may be discussion on the appointment of a full-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the temple. It is believed that with the appointment of the CEO, steps will be taken towards making the operation, financial management and administrative system of the temple more systematic and professional.

Discussion on the path forward for change

In the meeting, based on the findings of the preliminary investigation report of the SIT, there is a possibility of a large-scale discussion on the future methodology, improvement in the system of calculation of offerings, fixing accountability and measures to strengthen the temple management.

This meeting of Ram Mandir Trust is also considered important because its decisions will not only decide the future strategy of the Trust after the offering theft incident, but can also open the way for comprehensive changes in the financial and administrative system of the temple.
