After the case of donation theft in Ayodhya’s Ram temple came to light, while on one hand the investigation of the case is going on, on the other hand a lot of changes are being made internally in the temple. In an important change, on Thursday, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust deactivated the digital IDs of former General Secretary Champat Rai, Trustees Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao so that these people could not issue VIP passes. Now Mahant Dinendra Das has the power to issue VIP passes.
Only Trustee Mahant Dinendra Das will have the power to issue VIP passes for entry into the temple. Dinendra Das’s ID has been activated in the system. Now only on their request, easy and specific darshan passes can be issued. Trustee’s recommendation is required for VIP Darshan Pass.
Champat-Anil’s ID de-activated
In such a situation, now this responsibility has been given to Mahant Dinendra Das. After being discharged from the Trust, the IDs of Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao were de-activated. These IDs were used as part of measures to prevent alleged irregularities in the issuance of VIP darshan passes.
According to sources, the decision to close the IDs of the three people was taken by the new temple administration headed by acting general secretary Krishna Mohan. Due to closure of ID, now these three people will not be able to issue VIP darshan pass in any way.
There was a lot of rigging in making VIP passes.
This step has been taken by the temple administration amid the investigation being conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the alleged theft of donations in the Ram Temple. According to sources, the SIT investigation revealed that the digital IDs of trustees and senior officials were allegedly misused to make unaccounted passes.
Sources associated with the temple say that these IDs were used to provide VIP darshan facilities to the devotees who came on their recommendation. The case of running a racket for making such passes in large numbers and allegedly earning lakhs of rupees from it is being investigated.
Command given to former IFS Krishna in place of Champat
According to sources, investigation revealed that one of the arrested accused, Tinnu Yadav, took advantage of this loophole and made hundreds of unauthorized VIP darshan passes. Sources said that some close associates of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra are also being investigated for allegedly running a racket in the name of issuing VIP passes and earning lakhs of rupees illegally.
Last month, in the first week of June, a case of alleged irregularities in counting of donations in Ram temple came to light. After this the controversy started. The opposition became a constant attacker for theft of donations. Amid increasing pressure, following the recommendation of the Trust, the Uttar Pradesh government formed a SIT for investigation.
Recently, after Champat Rai resigned from the post of General Secretary of the Trust, former Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Krishna Mohan was appointed in his place. While trustee Anil Mishra also resigned. Trust’s special invitee member Gopal Rao was removed from his post. However, none of these three were made accused in the FIR.
