Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao were interrogated again

The SIT again interrogated Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao and asked for property documents. Champat Rai was also present in the pilgrimage area during the interrogation. Gopal Rao and Anil Mishra said that the theft came to our knowledge late. The SIT, which is investigating the offerings of Ram temple in Ayodhya and the alleged financial irregularities related to it, on Friday interrogated trustees Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao at length for the second time. According to sources, this time the main focus of the inquiry was on their personal properties and sources of income.

The SIT has asked all three to submit complete details of their movable and immovable properties and has also asked them to submit documents related to the property. The investigating agency is also reportedly probing allegations of commission taking and giving of undue benefits to some people during temple construction and purchase and sale of land.

SIT Trust’s audit report may be re-examined

According to sources, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao were specifically asked questions regarding these allegations. The SIT is also investigating how much the assets of Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao have allegedly increased in the last few years? Detailed information has also been sought from Anil Mishra about his new residence, sources of income and financial resources and transactions. During the investigation, the SIT has also summoned its annual audit report, financial records and other important documents from the trust. According to sources, SIT is also considering the possibility of re-audit of the trust’s audit report. On the other hand, the SIT on Friday also interrogated the employees and some officials of the bank involved in the process of counting the cash offerings.

Bank officials were asked why the arrangement made between the trust and the bank was not completely followed, why alleged changes were made in the prescribed procedure and if the bank suspected irregularities at any level, then why was it not informed to higher officials? The SIT also questioned that when the private security agency was engaged for security related work, why was it made to do sensitive work like counting of cash? SIT will also submit its report on the role of bank employees and it is possible that after that action may be taken against these bank employees also.
