World’s eyes on India-Australia summit
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese issued an official statement announcing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Australia. Modi will be in Melbourne from 8 to 10 July. This tour will be the second phase of his three-country tour. The journey will start from Indonesia on 6th July and will end in New Zealand on 11th July. Albanese said that the partnership between India and Australia is playing an important role in strengthening peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
Focus will be on trade, defense and technology
According to the Australian Prime Minister’s Office, cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, defence, security and technology is continuously strengthening and both countries are benefiting from it. In the statement, India has been described as the world’s fourth largest and fastest growing economy. It was also said that comprehensive strategic partnership and strong economic and cultural ties are the biggest strengths of this relationship. Albanese and Modi last met during the G20 summit in Johannesburg in 2025.
PM Modi will participate in many important programs in Melbourne
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Melbourne. Apart from this, he will also meet the Governor General of Australia, Sam Mostyn. During the visit, Modi will participate in the India-Australia CEO Forum and will also address a major program of the Indian community. While welcoming the visit, the Indian High Commission in Canberra said that this visit will further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership of the two countries and their shared resolve for peace, prosperity and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
