Solar eclipse occurs on Amavasya and lunar eclipse occurs on Purnima Tithi. These eclipse events are very special for astronomers. Once again a very unique time is about to come for astronomers and those interested in celestial events. This year, two eclipses are going to occur in August, in which there will be one solar and one lunar eclipse.
The eclipse of the Sun is going to happen on 12th August and the eclipse of the Moon is going to happen on 28th August. The festival of Rakshabandhan is also going to be celebrated on this day. This eclipse is going to be very special. This will be a 96 percent blood moon. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the Moon and the Sun. During this time the Moon passes through the Earth’s shadow and it becomes blurred. This lunar eclipse, which will occur on the full moon of Saavan month on 28th August, will not be complete. This will be a partial lunar eclipse. This lunar eclipse will occur in Aquarius and Shatabhisha constellation.
This lunar eclipse will not be visible in India
The eclipse will start at 06:53 am Indian time and will end at 12:32 pm Indian time. The total duration of the eclipse will be approximately 5 hours 39 minutes. At the same time, during this partial eclipse, the Moon will remain in the Earth’s shadow for 119 minutes. Since it will be day in India at the time of this second lunar eclipse, it will not be visible in India. According to a report, during the eclipse in August, the Moon will come under 96 percent of the Earth’s shadow.
Will be visible in these countries
This lunar eclipse will be visible mainly in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Europe, Africa and North and South America. When this lunar eclipse will be at its peak, then this partial eclipse will appear light-orange.
Eclipse will not affect Rakshabandhan
Since, this eclipse will not have any effect in India. For this reason, it will not have any negative impact on the festival of Rakshabandhan. On this day, sisters will be able to tie Rakhi on the wrist of their brothers without any hesitation after seeing the auspicious time as usual.
Sutak period will not be valid
According to the scriptures, the Sutak period of lunar eclipse starts exactly 09 hours before the start of the eclipse. But according to religious rules, Sutak period is effective only when the eclipse is visible. This lunar eclipse occurring on 28th August will not be visible in India, hence its Sutak period will also not be valid in India.
