The US Army fired a missile into the engine room of a commercial ship. This ship named ‘Lian Star’ was trying to break the blockade of Iranian ports. This information was given by the United States Central Command. The blockade by America started here in April. This is the sixth time since the blockade that the US military has stopped a ship trying to break the blockade. The US Army gave more than 20 warnings to this cargo ship. After this it was disabled.
This ship was flying the flag of Gambia. The ship was heading towards a port in Iran. The American Army claims that it was asked several times to return, but when it did not agree, it was attacked. The ship was seen floating without an engine in the Gulf of Oman on Saturday. Regarding the ship ‘Lian Star’, America has so far stopped 6 ships and changed the route of 116 ships. According to the US Army, a ship got permission to leave from there. The army said that apart from this, the route of 116 other ships has been changed and they have been sent away from Iranian ports.
The war started on 28 February
This blockade was started by Iran on 17 April. Iran had closed the route to the Strait of Hormuz. In response, America imposed a blockade on Iran’s ports. On February 28, America and Israel attacked Iran. Since then a full-scale war broke out in the Middle East. After this war, America imposed this blockade.
What is the situation now?
A weak ceasefire has been in place since April 7. Now the question is whether this ceasefire will be extended for 60 more days. If extended, there will be talks on Iran’s nuclear program in these 60 days. According to US officials, the US military on Wednesday launched a new defensive strike on an Iranian military facility after shooting down Iranian attack drones. US Central Command forces shot down four Iranian ‘one-way’ attack drones, which were posing a threat around the Strait of Hormuz.
