June 5, 2026 by Uma Shankar

ASUS WiFi 8 Router: Asus has created a new stir in the world of technology by introducing the world’s first Wi-Fi 8 router at the Computex 2026 event held in Taiwan. The company claims that this router can handle three different broadband connections including Jio and Airtel simultaneously. Along with this, it has the capability to provide fast internet speed up to 30Gbps. This router named Asus ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro has been specially designed keeping in mind gaming and high-speed internet users. Although Wi-Fi 8 technology is still in its early stages, this device shows a glimpse of future internet needs.

Support of three broadband connections simultaneously

Asus’s new ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro router is in the news due to its multi-WAN capability. In this router, users can connect the connections of different internet service providers like Jio and Airtel together. Not only this, a third broadband connection can also be installed in it. Its biggest advantage will be that if there is a problem in any one network or the internet is down, the system can automatically switch to another available network. Due to this, internet connectivity remains constant and users do not face any interruption while working, streaming or gaming. This feature can prove especially useful for those who need stable internet all the time.

You will get speed up to 30Gbps

According to reports, this router is based on IEEE 802.11bn i.e. Wi-Fi 8 technology. Although the official standard of Wi-Fi 8 is not yet fully ready and it is expected to be finalized by 2028, but Asus has started using advanced hardware for it. The company has given it a quad-band design, which improves both the capacity and stability of the network. The router is designed to deliver total wireless speeds of up to 30Gbps. This speed is many times higher than the existing home and office networks. In such a situation, in the coming years, when faster internet services and new devices will come in the market, then this router will be able to easily meet their needs.

Special design for gaming

Asus has specially designed this router keeping in mind heavy gaming and high-performance networking. It has dual 10G ports which support link aggregation up to 20Gbps. To keep the device cool during such high speed and processing, the company has also installed an active cooling system. An aluminum heat plate with nano-carbon coating has been used in it, which helps in controlling the temperature continuously. However, currently most of the smartphones, laptops and other devices present in the market are limited to Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7. In such a situation, users will not be able to take advantage of the full potential of this router. Also, the company has not yet disclosed its price and sale date.
