After the recent rebellion in Shiv Sena (UBT), the politics of the state has heated up. Meanwhile, party chief Uddhav Thackeray, during his visit to Yavatmal on Saturday (June 27), made a scathing attack on the rebel leaders and the central government. Addressing the workers, he said that the real Shiv Sainiks are still with them. Thackeray said that he is ashamed that the rebel leader remained in the party for so long.
Uddhav Thackeray said that the MLA may have gone, but Shiv Sena is still strong. He said that the party won 9 MPs in the Lok Sabha elections. Taking aim at the MPs who switched sides and joined the Shinde faction, he said that ask the traitors why the people who made them win with their blood and sweat, betrayed them.
Uddhav lashed out at the rebels
Thackeray claimed that the rebel MPs had won the Lok Sabha elections because of their campaign and public support. He said, ‘These MPs were elected only on my advice. Today they have got so much courage that they say touring the area is useless, whereas they won because I had toured for them. He claimed that BJP wants to increase its numbers by dividing MPs and is weakening democratic values.
BJP also targeted
Attacking the BJP, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief said that we now want to make Ram BJP-free and will agitate for this. Referring to the case of alleged theft of offerings in the Ram temple, Thackeray said that the BJP has betrayed Hindutva. He said that when Ram temple was being built, we had donated bricks and now reports of theft in the temple are coming to the fore. He said that those who loot temples are not a part of our Hindutva. He said that Vikas Nidhi (Development Fund) is not the property of any one party. This is public money.
‘Will BJP membership now be considered citizenship?’
Uddhav Thackeray further said that the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) process is starting. If even passport will not be considered as proof of citizenship, then will BJP membership now be considered as citizenship? He asked whether BJP has now become ‘Pakistan Janata Party’?
While speaking on the issue of farmers, he said that when he was the Chief Minister, he had given loan waiver for the farmers and even today he will continue to fight for the interests of the farmers. He said, ‘Today the farmers are not getting the guarantee of MSP, but these naysayers and novice MPs have considered their seats as sure.
Senior leader Anil Desai raised questions
Senior leaders Anil Desai and Arvind Sawant were also present on the tour with Uddhav. Sawant raised questions on MPs changing sides. He said, ‘We had 9 MPs in the Lok Sabha and 2 in the Rajya Sabha. What was your problem that you had to leave the party? Whereas the party did not do any injustice to you. He alleged that the media exposed that he did not even use the MP fund. They are sellable and corrupt. He said that this is a stigma on Maharashtra. BJP has started this corruption in the entire country.
