Not learning any lessons from history is an old habit of Pakistan. This is proving true once again. Only one year has passed since Operation Sindoor and according to the claims, Pakistan has again started doing something on the border which may increase the tension on the border. There are reports that suddenly the movement on the Line of Control has increased. Munir has issued some new orders to his army. Weapons are being deployed. In such a situation, the question is whether Pakistan is again secretly conspiring against India, what are the signs of war-like preparations from Pakistan’s side, what is the real reason behind this panic of Pakistan?
Some reports have claimed that Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir is plotting war against India. 8 brigades of Pakistani Army have deployed 35 anti-drone units on the Line of Control i.e. LoC. According to sources, Pakistan has shifted 5 battalions from the border with Afghanistan to the LOC area. These areas include Rawalakot, Kotli and Bhimber sectors.
Preparation for electronic warfare also
Apart from this, Pakistan has also done AI fencing, under which surveillance has been intensified. Besides, Pakistan’s preparations for electronic warfare are also increasing but the question is – why? Pakistan has already seen the fate of Operation Sindoor, what is the reason behind India showing such a belligerent attitude, is it really preparing for war or is Pakistan engaged in aerial firing?
First of all, understand why Pakistan’s throat is becoming so dry? The reason is the water of Indus River, regarding which new installments of hollow threats are being issued from Pakistan every day. The reason for this is the statement of the Water Resources Minister of India a few days ago. He had said during an interview that in the next 2 years the water of Indus River will completely stop going to Pakistan.
He said that work is going on to ensure that not even a single drop of water reaches Pakistan. He had told that the Indus Water Treaty has been canceled and a lot of water has been stopped by building small dams. Efforts have been started to divert water little by little. Well, we will also understand whether it is so easy to stop the water of Indus River, but at present this statement of the Union Minister of India has fallen like a missile in Pakistan. The statements have also started showing how much pain this has caused to Pakistan and its leaders.
Statement of Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had said that the moment we feel that our national security is in danger, we will definitely go to war with India. There should be no doubt, water is life. Man is born from water, the entire universe is born from water. Water is life. After this, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s statement also came.
Bhutto said, Modi says that he does not accept the Indus Water Treaty, this is his mistake. The whole of Pakistan is ready to face it. We are ready to foil their conspiracies. If he remains adamant on shutting off water supply to Pakistan, then Speaker Pakistan is ready for war. It is claimed that India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty after the Pahalgam attack. Due to this, the situation there is gradually worsening and this crisis has become bigger in summer.
Let us tell you that there is a situation of serious water crisis in provinces like Sindh and Balochistan of Pakistan. About one third of the population is badly affected by this water crisis. There is a shortage of 64% water in the North West Canal of Sindh. Apart from this, there is 38% water shortage in Rice Canal and 82% water shortage in Dadu Canal. Whereas the water level of Sukkur Barrage is also continuously decreasing.
As the water crisis is increasing, restlessness is also increasing among Pakistanis. Warlike attitudes are also a result of this. Pakistani journalist Qamar Cheema says that it seems that there is going to be a war on water. It seems to me that there will be a war over water. The people of India must be wondering what India will do even if the water treaty does not work. Pakistan will not, under any circumstances, allow water to be used as a weapon to exert political pressure.
Pakistani journalist Arzoo Kazmi says, as soon as the water level subsides, we will fight a war with India. Neither will we build dams nor will we do any work on the environment. Yes, but if the water comes less from the Indian side, as has been said by the Indian side, then they will not allow their share of water to go towards Pakistan. He did not say that Pakistan’s water supply will be cut off but our leaders, whether it is Bilawal Bhutto Zardari or the Defense Minister, are ready to fight a war with India.
Now let us also tell you why the water of Indus River is the Achilles heel of Pakistan, the statement of its complete closure is making the leaders of Pakistan in pain. This is called a numbers game of power.
- About 22 crore population of Pakistan depends on Indus and its tributaries for their water needs.
- 90% of the cultivated land gets its irrigation water from the Indus River.
- Agriculture sector has 23% share in Pakistan’s national income.
- 68% of rural Pakistanis depend on agriculture for their livelihood.
- Pakistan’s two hydropower dams Mangal and Tarbela are not getting water.
- Whereas Pakistan’s electricity production may decrease by 30% to 50%.
This pain of Pakistan is going to increase further
It is clear from India’s statements that this pain of Pakistan is going to increase further. That is why it should prepare not for war but to deal with this crisis. On the 13th of this month, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said that if there is a terrorist attack on India, we will stop Pakistan from feeding us. After the Pahalgam attack, we suspended Indus Water Valley.
He said, those whose eyes have lost their water should not expect water from us. We will not let the patrons of terrorism and the enemies of humanity take away the waters of our Indus. On June 5, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, as far as the treaty is concerned, as you know, we have postponed it. Until Pakistan completely stops terrorism on the border.
Can India completely stop Pakistan’s water?
By the way, can India completely stop Pakistan’s water? At present this seems far from reality. Actually, shutting off the water of Indus River does not mean shutting off any tap. India is talking about its share of that water. Which he is not able to use fully right now. Currently, a lot of water goes to Pakistan without being used. India aims to use that water for its fields and power plants by building dams, canals and reservoirs.
If India stops the flow of water overnight then a flood like situation will arise in its own areas. For this, big dams will have to be built in which water can be diverted. The issue of water closure makes Pakistan uneasy because it knows that if India completes the construction of its infrastructure, then India will have control over when to release water and when to stop it. The main reason for Pakistan’s anxiety is more than control over the quantity of water. He fears that if India starts diverting the water, then in future India will be in a position to control the flow as per its wish, which is a big threat for Pakistan.
