Asian Games 2026, IND vs PAK Match: The schedule and draw of the cricket tournament for the Asian Games 2026 to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan has been announced. This is the fourth time that cricket has been included in the Asian Games. Earlier this was seen in Guangzhou 2010, Incheon 2014 and Hangzhou 2023. India will enter this tournament as the defending champion in both men’s and women’s categories. According to the schedule of the tournament, arch-rivals India and Pakistan can clash only once in this tournament.
India-Pakistan match will be held on one condition
The matches in both men’s and women’s categories will be played in T20 format and all these matches will get official international status. The event for women’s teams will run from 17 September to 22 September 2026. Whereas, the event of men’s teams will be held from 24 September to 1 October 2026. In the men’s tournament, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have been given top seeding, due to which these four teams will directly enter the quarter-final round. A preliminary round will be played between 6 teams for the remaining four quarterfinal spots.
The top two teams from both the groups will make it to the quarter-finals. Due to seeding, India and Pakistan will be in different halves, which means that fans can see the high-voltage match of India-Pakistan only in the semi-finals or the title match. Due to which both the teams will have to qualify till these rounds.

- Group A: Afghanistan, Japan, Nepal
- Group B: Hong Kong China, Malaysia, Oman
India will face Japan in the quarter finals
The Indian women’s team will also start its campaign directly from the quarter-finals as a seeded team. The first quarter-final match of the Indian women’s team, which is defending its title, will be against host Japan. The winning team of the match between India and Japan will face Bangladesh or China in the semi-finals. Whereas, in the second semi-final, the winning team of Sri Lanka/Malaysia will face the winner of Pakistan/Thailand. This means that even in the women’s event, the competition between India and Pakistan can be seen only in the final.
