Ashadha Monthly Durgashtami 2026: In Sanatan Dharma, Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of every month is considered very special. This day is dedicated to the worship and fasting of Goddess Durga. In the scriptures, Goddess Durga has been described as the incarnation of Shakti. According to the Panchang, Durgashtami fast is observed on the Ashtami day of Shukla Paksha of every month. This day is very special for the devotees of Goddess Durga. On this day, Goddess Durga is worshiped and fasted as per the rituals.
According to Drik Panchang, the monthly Durgashtami of Ashadh month will be celebrated tomorrow i.e. on 21st July. Its fast will be observed tomorrow itself. There is a religious belief that by observing fast on the monthly Durgashtami day and doing special worship of Goddess Durga, one gets the blessings of Adishakti, the effect of which brings happiness in life. Navadurga Stotram is recited ritually during the puja on the monthly Durgashtami day. It is believed that by reciting this stotra one gets special blessings of the Goddess.
