Ashadh Masik Janmashtami 2026: Shri Krishna, the protector of the world, is considered to be the eighth incarnation of Lord Shri Hari Vishnu. Shri Krishna was born in Dwaparayuga. The Lord was born on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. On this day, the holy festival of Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated across the country. There is a tradition of celebrating the festival of monthly Janmashtami on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of every month. Today is the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Ashadh month.

In such a situation, the festival of monthly Janmashtami of Ashadh month is being celebrated today. Lord Shri Krishna is worshiped with rituals on the monthly Janmashtami day. Worship of God on this day is considered especially fruitful. By worshiping and fasting on this day, one gets the blessings of Lord Krishna, which removes all the sorrows of life. Ashadh Monthly Janmashtami Auspicious time of puja (Ashadh Masik Janmashtami 2026 Puja Muhurat)

It is auspicious to worship Lord Shri Krishna during Nishita period on monthly Janmashtami. According to Drik Panchang, the auspicious time of worship of Shri Krishna will start at 12.06 midnight today on the monthly Janmashtami of Ashadha month. This auspicious time of puja will last till 12.46 pm.

Ashadh Monthly Janmashtami Puja Method (Ashadh Monthly Janmashtami Puja Vidhi)

Devotees observing monthly Janmashtami fast should wake up early in the morning and take bath. After this wear clean clothes. Then clean the home temple or place of worship. After this, place the idol or picture of Lord Shri Krishna there. Then bathe the Lord with Panchamrit. After this make them wear yellow clothes. Then offer them flowers, basil leaves and butter and sugar candy. Chant Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya mantra during the puja.

There is a rule to worship the child form of Shri Krishna especially at night, hence one must worship the child form of Shri Krishna at night. Perform bhajan-kirtan and at the end perform aarti and distribute prasad. Break the fast only after the end of Ashtami Tithi the next day.
