Alert! If you too have a habit of swallowing hot samosas, momos or boiling soup as soon as it comes out of the pan, then this news is a wake up call for you. A case has come to light from China which can send shivers down anyone’s spine. Here, a 42-year-old woman consumed hot food in a hurry so much that it caused an 8 cm long deep wound i.e. ulcer in her throat.

This horrifying incident took place in Changsha city of Hunan province of China. A woman surnamed Wang with her friends China’s famous dish ‘hotpot’ (Soup keeps boiling on the table itself, in which many things are cooked and eaten) She was eating. Wang was so hungry that she took out the boiling food from the pot and swallowed it directly without cooling it.

According to the report of South China Morning Post, as soon as Wang swallowed the boiling morsel, he felt a strong burning sensation in his chest. Then what was left? To suppress the pain, he immediately gulped down cold water. Then he ignored this matter considering it minor, but the very next day his condition worsened. It became difficult for him to swallow even a sip of water. There was unbearable pain in the chest with every sip.

Endoscopy blows doctors’ senses!

When he was taken to the hospital, what the doctors saw was shocking. Endoscopy revealed that an 8 cm long ulcer had developed in the tube leading from his throat to his stomach. According to doctors, this tube is usually 25 to 30 centimeters long, which means about one-third of Wang’s throat was badly burnt. Also read:Flat worth crores, but life is like hell. What do experts say?

Doctor Wu Xiaoqing said that people often think that our throat can withstand hot things, but this is absolutely wrong. Our esophagus can tolerate a maximum temperature of only 50 to 60 degrees Celsius. Whereas food taken directly from the hotpot is heated to 80 to 90 degrees Celsius. Cold-hot combination is also dangerous

The doctor told another shocking thing. He said that often after eating spicy or hot food, people drink cold water or cold drinks to soothe the mouth. As Wang did. According to doctors, cold water immediately after eating extremely hot food also damages the inner layer of the throat, due to which the wound becomes deeper. Thankfully, Wang got treatment on time, and now there is no danger of the ulcer turning into cancer.
