Apple may make a major change in its upcoming MacBook Pro models. According to new reports, the company can use Samsung’s privacy display technology in MacBook M6 Pro and M6 Max models. This is the same feature that Samsung introduced in its Galaxy S26 Ultra. With the help of this technology, the screen is clearly visible only to the user sitting in front, while the content is almost not visible when viewed from the side. If this feature comes in MacBook, then a big change can be seen in the premium laptop segment.
Apple can adopt Samsung’s technology
According to Schrodinger’s report, Apple may use Samsung’s privacy display technology in its upcoming MacBook Pro models. This feature is considered especially useful for those people who use laptops in public places. With the help of this technology, the screen is clearly visible only to the person sitting directly in front, whereas the display appears blurry when viewed from a side angle. Samsung first introduced this feature in the Galaxy S26 Ultra and now it is believed that Apple is also preparing to include it in its premium devices.
How does the privacy display feature work?
This technology of Samsung works at panel level. The system inside the display controls in which direction the light emitted from each pixel goes. This does not affect the brightness and color quality of the screen much, but the content is not clearly visible to those watching from the side. This is the reason why it is considered a strong privacy feature. If Apple includes it in MacBook, then users can get better privacy at places like office, cafe and airport. At present, no official confirmation has been given by the company regarding this feature.
New MacBook may enter in 2027
According to leaks, Apple’s new MacBook Pro models with M6 Pro and M6 Max processors may be launched in early 2027. The report also says that the privacy display feature may be limited only to premium MacBook models, while the normal variants will only have a traditional display. The interesting thing is that if Apple brings this feature to MacBook, then it is possible that this technology will be seen in laptops before iPhone. Although at present this information is based only on rumors and leaks, but if this happens then it can prove to be a big change in the premium laptop market.
