If you are also facing charging problem in your iPhone then you should download the new update.
Charging was not happening when the battery was exhausted
According to Apple’s release notes, the iOS 26.5.1 update fixes a bug that was causing some iPhone Air and iPhone 17 models to not start wired charging after the battery is almost completely drained. The company said that this problem was affecting a limited number of users. According to reports, in many cases, even after the phone was turned off and connected to a USB Type-C charger, the screen remained completely black and the usual low battery indication or Apple logo was not visible. For this reason, users were feeling that their phone was not charging or the system was not responding.
Many users had complained about the problem
Recently, battery related complaints were reported in iPhone Air and iPhone 17 models. According to the report, some users said that after the battery became zero, the phone was not turning on even after connecting the charger. Many people also tried common solutions like force restart, using volume up, volume down and power buttons, but the problem did not go away. In some cases, even after changing the charging cable, power adapter or connecting the phone to a computer, there was no benefit. In one case, one had to resort to a wireless charger to restart the phone.
Update your iPhone like this
Although Apple has not directly linked this update to the widespread battery drain complaints, the company’s information clearly indicates that this update has been released to fix an issue related to charging behavior. Users can install the new update by going to Settings- General- Software Update- Install Now in their iPhone. The size of this update for iPhone 17 is said to be around 12.71GB. Meanwhile, the WWDC 2027 event is going to start from June 8, after which Apple’s focus is expected to gradually shift towards iOS 27. In such a situation, this is considered an important bug fix update for iOS 26 series.
