After the defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee’s old friends are now leaving her. On Saturday, former minister Chandrima Bhattacharya, a long-time aide of Mamata Banerjee, resigned from all posts of Trinamool Congress. On Friday, Chandrima Bhattacharya had resigned from the post of state Trinamool Congress president. On Saturday, he sent his resignation to party leader Mamata Banerjee. The question arises that what has suddenly happened to Chandrima Bhattacharya, who has been with Mamata day and night even after the defeat, has been visiting Kalighat regularly, and has been sitting in the Trinamool Congress party office?
24 hours ago, i.e. on Friday in Chandrima Metropolitan Trinamool Chandrima was present in the party office, even when the leaders of Ritabrata group entered the building. Later, she left and resigned on Saturday.
Question raised on my loyalty
What happened that Chandrima Bhattacharya tendered her resignation? He said that I tried to show loyalty. There was no shortage anywhere. I was clear to myself about this, but I saw that questions were raised on it. When I spoke to Mamata Banerjee about what happened at Trinamool Bhavan yesterday, she asked me, did you hand over the building to them? I didn’t hand over anything. As long as I was there, I was there every day. No one came to me. I didn’t even meet him.
In Chandrima’s words, He came in, I did not see him. No one came to my office. I was told that I had handed them over. This made me sad. He claims that these words have raised questions on his loyalty. That is why Chandrima Bhattacharya decided to resign. However, he did not say anything about joining Ritabrata group.
Chandrima’s son had already broken ties
Chandrima’s son Saurabh Basu was present in the meeting of Ritabrata faction on 22 June. When asked about this, Chandrima said, “My son is 47 years old. It was his own decision. If I tell you now, no one will believe that after he went to that meeting, I never talked to him about politics at home. I even stopped going to his office. I used to go straight home from the party office.”
At the same time, Trinamool Congress MP Dola Sen spoke exclusively to TV9 Bharatvarsh regarding the capture of Trinamool Congress headquarters. Dola Sen said, those who are saying that we are afraid of the Ritabrata group and that is why we are forming. TMC is here to save Bhavan, we want to say that we are not afraid. We know that Mamata is our leader and two flowers are our symbol. We know that one group is trying to take over but in the end the truth prevails.
