It is reported that Sonam Kapoor’s sister Rhea Kapoor’s diamond jewelery worth crores has gone missing. Rhea Kapoor’s team was going to New York for a fashion event. During this time, diamond earrings were stolen from her makeup artist’s handbag. Mumbai Police has registered an FIR in this matter. The value of Rhea Kapoor’s stolen jewelery is said to be Rs 1.35 crore. Riya’s makeup artist suspects that this jewelery has gone missing somewhere on the way.
Celebrity makeup artist Savleen Singh has been working with Rhea Kapoor for the last seven years. For the event to be held in New York, she had taken two pairs of earrings on rent from jewelers in Mumbai. It is being told that Rhea Kapoor and her team were going to New York to attend the Met Gala fashion event.
Rhea Kapoor’s jewelery stolen
According to Mumbai Police, Rhea Kapoor’s team had taken earrings worth Rs 1.35 crore on rent from two Mumbai-based jewelers for the high-profile fashion event. When the team reached New York with the jewellery, the earrings were missing from the bag. In this case, the team has registered a case against an unknown person at Sahar Police Station in Mumbai. Rhea Kapoor’s makeup artist Savleen Singh says that the earrings were kept in her handbag, but when she reached New York, they were found missing.

Jewelry was taken from these jewelers
According to reports, Rhea Kapoor’s team had rented diamond earrings from Mehta Jewelers and Goenka Jewelers of Mumbai. These jewelery were packed in two separate boxes and kept in Savleen’s handbag. The team left Mumbai on 27 April at 10:25 pm on an Emirates flight and reached John F. Kennedy Airport in New York at around 5:30 pm on 28 April via Dubai. Reached Kennedy International Airport. When she opened the jewelery boxes after checking in at the New York hotel, they were empty.
Police are investigating
The value of the stolen diamond earrings is said to be Rs 1.35 crore. On returning to Mumbai, Savleen Singh lodged a complaint at Sahar Police Station. Based on his complaint, the police registered an FIR against an unknown person under Section 303(2) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) related to theft. Police officials are investigating to find out whether the theft took place at the Mumbai airport, or during the flight, or during transit in Dubai or after reaching New York. Further investigation is ongoing.
